I have a question about towing. Can I safely tow my 42' Excaliber Eagle with my 1999 Ram 2500 4x4? The truck has a class 4 - 15k lb hitch and 4.11 rears. Just local towing few miles from the house to launch the boat. I would appreciate your comments.

is the truck a deisel.?
just take it slow
are u on flat land or hill's
if its deisel it will probly pull it but but wont be that strong
thats a lot of weight for a single axle truck

what does that badboy weight and how much power are you using to push that Eagle.

If The Trailer Has Good Brakes You Should Have No Problem For What You Are Doing.

Thanks for the replies guys. The truck is a long bed with a 5.9l Magnum Auto. I am not looking at doing anything crazy, just local slow and careful towing. I did look at that other thread that was recommended. I am going to try it and if I do not feel comfortable I will have a friend tow it.

The boat is powered by (2) 502s with 440 hp and TSR outdrives. I just bought the set up. I need to find good local service that is reasonable for Winter prep and a few small issues. Any local side work type connections, please let me know!

Also, Boat weighs 12,500 lbs and the trailer weighs 2,500 lbs.

May want to double check boat weight eagles were a little over 14,500lbs and 5.9 magnum probably won't get it up a boat ramp.

I don't know about you guy's but I think that truck is WAY over matched for that boat just my .02 BZ
