Goodmorning,
I am looking for a used trailer for my 1985 Chris Craft Stinger 390. I am in Connecticut and would prefer something close by, but I can certainly keep my options open for transport a longer distance. It does not have to be great or beautiful as I only want it for storage and short distance travel to spring and fall launching. The weight of the boat is about 11,500 fueled. If someone has a trailer that would work, or knows where I could find one please let me know. You can contact me via email at [email protected]
Thanks,
Todd

There are a couple for sale in the classifieds. They may be overkill, but you can't have too much trailer. If you are lucky enough to find any used trailers; they probably won't work well for you. Your boat is heavy by today's standards so anything in the 38-40 ft range is probably only good for a 10K lbs. boat. Also they are going to have have the center of gravity/axle placement off for your use since you probably have transmissions and the engines set farther forward, compared to a Bravo drive boat. In other words, overkill is not a bad idea with one of the larger trailers in the classifieds. Do not try and skimp by. You will find yourself replacing tires, bearings, and axles more often than you get to go boating. My boat is about 10,500 lbs. fueled. My trailer has 3-6K lbs axles under it, and is rated for 16K lbs. I would not want to place a heavier boat on my trailer, as having that extra capacity is well-worth the piece of mind.
Also, Trick Marine sells trailers, and while you may have to go used, Fred will give you the best price possible. He has an ad in the classifieds as well as:

Try Rolland Manning at Manning Marine www.manningmarine.com He built a few replacement trailers for very large boats this summer. He may have a line on something that would work for you. You didn't ask for my .02 but, new trailers are worth the extra money everytime in my opinion. Old trailers are money pits. Been there done that.

we have an older manning for a very heavy 42 cig with trips, and its held up great, especially considering that the boat has been sitting on its trailer for 3 years
www.big1marine.com i think they still sell manning trailers. and older pic of our boat can be seen on its manning under sold boats section before it sank
