Question Value of my used Manning triaxle trailer???

I'm thinking of moving from my steel trailer to an aluminum and before moving forward, I'd like to understand the price of a new trailer compared to what I can get for my current trailer. Thus, how much I'd have to put out of pocket to get into a new rig.

I have a triaxle manning steel trailer in white for my 31ss with mag wheels and drum brakes on two axles. It's a 1994 that was never registered by the original owner as he kept the boat in rack storage. I bought the boat and trailer in April 2005 and have been using it this summer. The paint has a few knicks here and there and minimal signs of rust, overall condition is great.

I'm looking to find out if these values are in alignment with today's market? Are NADA values good to go by or are they over or under reality??

Nada has the following values
Low Retail Average Retail
Base Price $2,280 $2,715
Options
Custom Wheels (Tri-Axle), Per Set: $270 $320
Surge Brakes: $140 $170

TOTAL PRICE $2,690 $3,205

manning will build you a new one for about 5-6K used should be 1/2...so your nada is real close. Why would you want to replace it? Aluminum pulls like crap flexes all over if its not all welded...most are bolted together.

My concern is with putting steel into salt and brackish water. I boat in fresh water 90% of the time, but with having a bigger boat, I'm interested in more open water outings. And I know I won't be happy if the trailer starts looking like crap. It sure does look good under the boat, I'll say that!!!

I saw that loadrite in the oso classifieds and thought it was setup nicely with the electric over hydraulic and disc brakes, I'd have them put brakes on the 3rd axle as well...

I've had tandem aluminums and have had great luck with them. Now of course this is definitely longer than what I had, is the flexing really that bad? The manning, even with steel I can see it flex some up front.

If you want an aluminum trailer, spend the extra money for the Myco-It's welded, and they have great customer support.
just my.02.

Also ...one thing with an aluminum trailer...make sure it sinks. Becaus eif it doesn't, it's hard to get the boat on

I'd love a Myco, been lookiing for used, the new ones are priced way out of my league....

I really would like the electric over hydraulic and disc brakes on all 6 wheels... we tow a lot of HILLS!

Guess I was trying to see if 3,000 was a realistic number for my trailer, don't want to pick up the new trailer and then find I can't 1/2 what I thought for the manning....

Might want to call Manning about a welded aluminum. I just got mine this summer so I don't have any long term experience with it but I'm very happy to this point and didn't notice any flex problems when towing or pulling it out of the water. www.manningmarine.com
