SOB Racing next year
I noticed there is a lot of talk regarding Single Outboard Racing next year in OPA of New Jersey.
Min length is 21 feet and max is 24 feet ....with a single outboard. Nice and simple.
Sounds like it might be very interesting for the new 24 to get competitive again.
Any interest?
Maybe the factory could help in some way make the older boats more competitive too.

I'd love to! But it would be a hard "sell" to Becky. Since it's "our" boat and she is not a real risk taker. Also she really doesn't get why people would go out there and beat the snot out of there pleasure boats and maybe wreck them just to say "yeah, I've raced it!".
Now with that said, what could be done to make them more competitive? Mine is waiting for a complete rebuild so "more competitive" could fit right in there with the rebuild!
I read a post on the SOB class yesterday and it sounds like the few that have made it out are all in the 75mph+ range of boats. Not that they are getting there but they are seeing high 60's for coarse avg. And thats alot more "BANG" than our boats are seeing now with singles. Do you guys have an idea for some sort of a competitive/race package that would get us near there?
I'm interested but I would need alot of info in order to try and sway Becky into going for it. Get back to me here or at [email protected] with some info and we'll see what happens.

may be hitting the for sale scene soon. But it needs alot of work. Although it wouldn't qualify for SOB class!
