It has a different meaning to many different people. Some shops consider thinning the blades and sharpening the edges a "lab finish". While others go the other extreme and properly adjust the pitch, rake, cup, camber, diameter, flare ring, thickness, trailing edge, blade shape, etc to the boat/motor/drive combination in an attempt to make the propeller more efficient for a given application.

The key is find a shop who will work with you and help you achieve the desired results from your boat. A lab finished prop is not for everyone. We talk many customer out of having their props "lab finished" because we feel it's not in the best interest of their goals.

If you have any questions feel free to give us a call.

Matt, I had a 32 sunsation that had Merc lab finished 28s on it (454 mags). They performed very well and I was always happy with them. I am in line for a 43 Sunsation F4. Do you guys usually work on tuning a prop for a new boat? It will be the first one out of the mold.

John, We do a lot of work on new boats. Just this past week the new 30 AMT with I/O's was here testing with us prior to their trip to Sarasota for the Powerboat article on the boat. We also were testing with a 38 Phantom this past week as well.

With a new boat, as well as existing boats, we go far beyond the props to get the most performance out of the boat. The props are the final touch to get the most out of a boat.

If you have any questions don't hesitate to give us a call.

Thanks Matt. Not sure what the plan is yet, but this will be an option I want to consider.
