Fund, the sad thing is almost none of the Chicago Club members live in Chicago They all live in the burbs. This drives me nuts, I keep wishing one of my buddies lived in the city so I would have a place to stay when visiting. Have fun

Hi Donna!
Long time no chat.

I don't care Wally. I'm getting a little old for bar hopping. I will probably have a G/F with me.

I was thinking something "Chicago-ish."

Like once my friend took me to that actual place where they said "Cheebugger Cheebugger Cheep."

And once when I was touring with the band we played the Cubby Bear and I walked out the front door and Bam there was Wrigley Field.

One time I was there we went down on Division street and were at the very last night of a bar called "The Rockery." I still have the matches. That was like 92.

I guess if you only have one night in town... and it pretty much needs to include dinner. What about someplace with a view?

If you are into steaks, one of club member's father owns the Chop House on Ontario downtown. It is ranked as one of the top steak houses in the USA. There are many plays and musicals nearby. Navy Pier, museum....

Where are you from? Age?

Hi Mark,

I know of you. And your boat.
( I am a friend of Tizbad with the Ocean 39.)
Nice to "meet you."

I am 39 and I am in Toledo. I run the same waters with GlassDave, Packinair, Ernie Davis, Scott, Madcow, and Half-Nutz.

I've probably been to Chicago 4 or 5 times... but always on a schedule and never since I joined OSO and had access to regional advice like this.

I am actually just passing through on a Friday night, but figure that I might as well make the most of it.

I know that the locals always know the cool places. I am more concerned with a nice place to stay and also to have dinner. Probably won't do a show... would do a trip to the water though.

Thanks for any ideas that you might have.

If you want to be by the water then stay at the Hilton and Towers on south Michigan Ave. Buckingham Fountain across the street, Navy Pier, Shed Aquarium, Soldier Field, Adlere Planatarium, .......scenery stuff.

Recommend: Sheridan on the river, Chop House and Excaliber for dancing.

What ever you heard about me, they are all lies.

Recognize anyone here?

Fund if the company is paying stay at the W on Lake Shore, very cool view of Navy Pier and a real wild funksway (spelling way off ) atmosphere. If you can't stay there, then check out the bar at the top. It has a great great view, very dim and trendy. I would forgo the steak for Italian, I wish MI had Italian resturants like they have in Chicago. There is a piano bar I like call Redheads, older crowd smoky but very city like and busy. Just walk the heart of MI Ave. and of course check out the intersection of Division and Rush lots going on there some of my favorite Italian places are near there. Are you a member of AYC, there are a few yacht clubs on the water you can check out, one is on an old boat, if you are interested I will try to find the name. Too much to do so little time, you should stay over Saturday night. So you have a GF is that why you are MIA here
