These folks are from the Polk, Iowa area with a 42' Fountain Lightning. Any info would be helpful.

He had (has??) a 93' 35 lightning.

I saw them at the Shootout driving through shooters
in a mid 90's 42 lightning.

In May I did a survey on a 1997 42' Fountain that he needed for financing in his girlfriends name. The only number I have for him is (515) 208-2189.
It rings and rings and finally goes to voice mail. I'm trying to tell him we never received his check and to put a stop payment on it and send another one. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

He even had his secretary call our office to tell us the check has been sent, so I doubt he's a scammer. Would be unusual for someone from Iowa to be a deadbeat, but anything's possible. I'm hoping it's just an oversight or a mail foul-up.

Ed I going to be honest with you I need a survey on a boat I stole and I am not going to pay you after you do the Survey.I have 2 hull #'s on this boat now so I need 2 survey's for each bank. My Bankruptcy lawyer wants a copy also.

Seems like you got phucked again

When you consider the hundreds of surveys I do each year, the percentage of problems is very small.

There are some trends however.

1. Guys who put the survey in their girlfriends/wifes maiden name for the financing. Re: Vince Cleffi/ C.Tiffanie Eagan
and Mike Brown/Tammy Sutton...seem not to want to pay for the survey. Don't understand it...never will.

2. High performance boat buyers are harder to collect from than other types of boats.

Most people are honest and forthright and like the idea that to expedite their deals, I sent the survey before I was paid. I believe people when they say they'll send the check. I feel bad insisting on payment before the survey, but many houses are requiring it.

it sucks, I have a guy owes me 1100.00 bucks, says he will pay me every week, make the weekly call this week he is at road atalnta watching the races.. called the attorney for collection procedures, everyone now is on credit card or check up front...no more credit... Hellen Wait is my new credit supervisor...if they want it they can go to Hell'en Wait...
