Default Supercharging an 05 F150

Has anyone done this yet?

I am looking to buy a 05 or 06 F150 in the comming months, and would like the truck to have some power.

Thought I would ask.

Don't plan on towing with an SC.

How much do you want to spend?

How fast do you want to go?

A basic exhaust, intake and programmer will net you 25-30 hp and cost about $ 1600 installed. It will leave you with a warranty.

A whippple will cost 5500+ install get you 100hp- NO warranty.

I've heard and driven an '04 F-150 with the 5.4L V8 and it sounds nice with a nice exhaust system on it. Fairly good power, but it would've been better with an intake to match the new exhaust.

Sean,

I'd be interested to know how your bud's set up runs compared to your current set up.

Wow, pretty salty.

One of my employees is running a Vortec on his 5.3 Chevy. I eat him for lunch with my 6.0. I don't think he is running anything close to what your bud is getting.

stock kit was 8 or 9 psi, they worked it to 12-13 psi... headers, exhaust and thats about it....

we are both going to the track tomorrow... we will find out, maybe we can race with 10k behind the trucks, i would win then.... i've been practicing my starts, poor transmission...

Why not tow with it?

I can buy a Procharger system for $4200 Canadian.

Its not a speed thing, its a passing, and axcelerating thing.

You mention intake, is there an after market one avail?

I've read about the programer, exhaust I think is a waste of money, unless its supercharged.

I would be surprised if they didn't make on for the F-150's. We have one for our Hemi Durango and love it, complemented the Flowmasters well. Here's K&N's website, that should help you get started.
