2004 Ford F250 PSD Or 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 CTD

I am currently in the market for a new truck. I have driven both the 04 F250 6.0, and the 04 2500 CTD and like them both.I know the CTD cant be beat but I am leaning twords the F250 for a couple of reasons. It will be pulling a 90 Cafe Racer, and I just wanted to know which truck you guys prefer. Does any one have any experiance with either of these trucks? What are the pro's and con's of each?

I just took a closer look at your original post. You said 2004. I'm assuming you are looking used?
Again, I would look at the total package. Dodge has three things going for it...motor, motor, motor.
Ford has three things going for it. Room, better tranny for towing, resale, and more power. Oops, that's four.

Haha, yeah I'm looking at buying a used truck. Right now the Ford is still my most likely choice. I'm going to be making a decision by the end of the week. Any other opinions??

Go with the Ford ... but only if it has 4.10 gears with the automatic. The truck is horrible for towing with 3.73 gears. My average fuel mileage is 14-16 empty with a supercab dually with 4.10 gears and 10-12 towing 16,500 lbs.

Why don't you guys get some balls and tell him what he needs...this is where everybody goes wrong.....bottom line ...even though you might not want to hear it is you need a dually 1 ton to yank that thing around....the 3/4 ton is not quite good enough...thats how it is.

Go and look at the equipment yards at your local utility companies, construction companies, highway departments, etc. These are the people who use these trucks to the max and know the numbers behind keeping them on the road.
80% will be Fords

2% will be Dodge
There are alot of reasions why- quality, serviceability, parts availability, factory support and others. I have no product bias- in fact, for years I bought GM's on my brother-in-law's employee-purchase plan before they ruined it.

Thanks for the input guys. While we're on the subject of 250 vs 350, in a single rear wheel application what is the true difference? I have talked to a couple of people and they say the only difference between a 350 and a 250 SRW are hte springs. Thanks

). We have a Ford F350 4X4 PSD we bought new with 259K on it and it is solid as a rock, no rattles. We also have a 2000 Dodge Durango we bought new and now has 109K on it. It seems as soon as we hit 90K on it, things started going wrong, little things like the power mirrors acting up, power window motors, etc. Now it's using antifreeze and there isn't a puddle under it so it doesn't look good. Just my .02 on Ford vs. Dodge.
