Default New round ear Hydromotive

Anybody know anything about them? Supposedly they give bow & stern lift and perform better out of the box than Bravo 1s. Who's got the skinny?

Default Re: New round ear Hydromotive

You are referring to the Hydromotive "X" series of props. They have been on the market for about 18 months, we were testing with them about 2 years ago.

They have a higher rake angle than the Intimidator 4 blade prop. The rake angle is similar to a Bravo 1.

The Quad IV X is typically a little faster, out of the box, compared to a Bravo 1. There are some downsides to the Quad IV X. On boats that tend to "blow out" the props when getting on plane the Quad IV X may have an even more difficult time getting the boat on plane. The cruise speed of the Quad IV X is not as good as a stock Bravo 1. Many of the characteristics of the Quad IV X are similar to that of a lab finished Bravo 1.
