Please forward any suggestions related to changes to the 2006 SBI/APBA Super V Class Technical Rules to the email address below. You can also fax any suggestions to 502-228-7956.
Suggestions will be assembled and sent to each owner. Owners will be contacted for a conference call to discuss the proposed changes.
After we discuss each item, we will take a vote.
Once voted on by the registered equipment owners (one vote per boat), our recommendations will be forwarded to the SBI/APBA Board of Governors for consideration and approval.
Remember, we vote on Technical Rule changes only, not General Rules.
Suggested topics for Technical rule changes so far are:
SSM #6 Drive ratio
Propeller selection
“Race ECM”
A current email address and phone number update would be helpful.
Thanks,
Ken Doyle

PS: Discussion of proposed 2006 SBI/APBA Technical Rules changes is only open to registered 2006 SBI/APBA Super V Class owners…all the Super V’s that raced in Key West. If your not included in this group, we appreciate your concern, but we cannot entertain your suggestions.

As a matter of clarification, each of the preliminary topics of discussion listed above are either subject to implementation in the OSS 2006 Technical Rulebook by virtue of OSS Super Vee Class owners vote, or have been discussed by OSS Super Vee Class owners during conference calls. No one in SBI/APBA is attempting to lock a team into (or out of) racing with one organization or the other through the owner representation process.
In keeping with the idea that race teams should be able to race where they want, when they want, it is reasonable that we, the owners of SBI/APBA equipment, discuss these topics, and other ideas, among ourselves. When we make our recommendations to the Board of Governors, it will be as one voice, under a democratic process, determining our own future.
I look forward to your input regarding the direction our
Class will take in 2006.

Thanks to the teams who I have spoken with and have sent emails. There has been tremendous support and many good suggestions.
Please forward any new suggestions to me before December 31. We will be taking a vote right after the first of the year.
Super V Class rule-change recommendations will be made to the Board of Governors prior to the Ft. Lauderdale meeting.
Any Super V team thinking of running Divisional races to qualify for the 2006 Key West Worlds, or if you are planning to run National races and have not already registered as a 2006 SBI/APBA team...download an application form at www.superboat.com and send it to Deana or Jane ASAP.
You cannot vote unless you are a registered 2006 SBI/APBA team. This is for SBI/APBA Super V only; one vote per registered boat.
Send me your updated email address and fax number to receive proposed wording and ballot.
