1992 bandit 24 502mag whats up?
my buddy is looking at this boat on ebay....1992 baja bandit 502mag 128 hours...the guy says that the boat was owned by a racing team called team thunder and was raced in the stock class, but he says that the boat is mint and it does 86 mph....86mph sounds faster than you would think that this boat goes...it has a red hull and looks like its in good shape (from pics)...the guy wants $19,500 any advise would be appreciated....steve

No way that goes even 80 with a 502/415 hp motor in it. I would say 72 is a good speed for that boat. $19500.00 is too much. That boat is old and needs a good trailer.
I had a red & black 226es & there is no way that the gel is in mint condition. I can say first-hand that the red is faded WAY bad just from the interior shots. It will come back but won't stay. Mine was stored indoors always and about 1/2 way through the season it needed buffed.

I had a 94 with a 454 mag that did high 60s easily. A friend had a 96 with a 502 and he was mid-upper 70s.
Personally, I wouldn't pay more than 12-13K for that boat.

A 226 is a better boat than the Bandit. It will run faster with the same power and ride better also. The 226 I had would haul ass. It had a HP465 in it with a 1.36 drive ratio. 78 with that power & 88 with 600 HP.
