I did the search and came up with some hits, but I will ask again anyway.
Neg. with a dealer and would like to add a windlass and a GPS chartplotter. The windlass is quoted around $3700 +/- and the plotter is $1100 retail. No way I will pay that, the Garmin 172C is what I am looking at sell all day long for less than $500, granted it would need to be mounted to the dash as in the factory boat and hard wired, but you can see the difference in pricing.
They are installing factory equip. as if it was ordered new. So whats the mark-up......anyone 100%, 75%. I don't think I am unreasonable to ask them to do it at cost. They may laugh, but I know they are making $ off me on the boat sale, and thats ok. I'm not grinding the heck out of them, I just think those option prices are nuts.
