Default weight loss and performance

I am considernig the following mods:

Headers to replace factory exhaust
elimination of captians call and to just thru hull exhaust

This should eliminate several hundred pounds in the rear of the boat, it is 31's Profile with stock 454's running Bravo 1's.

How much will this change performance? I go back and forth with wether I should build this one, it is a 1993 hull, or keep it siple for a couple more years, when I hope to buy about a ~30' cat with twins.

Thoughts? Thanks.

You may gain performance from the headers but don't count on much from the weight difference. The headers are pretty heavy and the captains call y-pipe's are aluminum and don't weigh as much as youd think. If your boat weighs 8000 lbs and you get rid of 160 lbs thats only 2%,Smitty
