The light towers at the ends of the breakwall are 20' high. The water was INSANE! Then 3 hours later it was a beautiful sunset. It's a trip how mother nature and the ocean works. Would've sucked to have gone out this a.m. to the Islands when it was nice and calm and had to come home in this crap!! Gotta respect the ocean

Al, I'm trying to get the Channel Islands/Santa Barbara run moved to Dec. when the weather is nicer up here. Can't wait to see the new ride!

Al....you didn't get sick in water like that. There was barely any swells out that day you got tossed your cookies!

We surfed them once. When it gets big like that it is fun. Those waves were probabley Double over head with the ocassional tripple coming in. Wind was on shore so they were a little mushy but they would pitch out on the larger ones. Jetskiers would have had a freeking blast out there. I was dead by the time I paddled all the way out plus the current made it so you had to keep paddling......

You have to be hardcore to surf on the east coast!!
