Default Power Steering/ Brake problem with Duramax

Got a 03 2005 Crew 2WD Duramax with 68K on the clock. This truck has been bullet proof so far but had a glitch yesterday. It was 39 degrees, in FL that is cold and when I started the truck it had no power steering or brakes. I left it home and took another truck for the day. I know they operate off the same pump system and the fluid was at the correct level. When I got home last night I started the truck and everything worked fine with nothing being different except the outside temperature. Just glad it happened in my driveway instead of on the road. Anybody else had this problem?

Haven't had that exact problem, but possibilities are loose belt, water pump leak, power steering or oil leak getting on belt.

Ohhhhhhhhhh....There's the problem...it's 2wd!!!

Seriously ...It may be the p/s pump itself. We have had a TSB on the bigger trucks. Get me a VIN# and I'l do some checkin'.

I have an 05 CC Dually with Duramax and had the exact same thing happen. It only lasted for a few minutes but happened twice to me last week during the 30 degree weather we had in Tampa

I had an 2001 with a similiar problem, it was due to the check valve in the pump, not the temperature. Something to check into.
