fuel injected 350 vs fuel injected 454
Repowering my 24ft formula sportfish with either the 350 or 454 ? is what is more efficent at cruising speed. I use my boat for fishing so mpg and gallons and an hour are my concerns. Going from 260hp alpha one to bravo 3 hoping for aleast 4-5 kts increase at cruise old cruise was 20kts at 3350rmp thank you

How about a 350 Mag MPI (300hp) or one of those 6.2(320hp) SBCs. They will give you more HP and better cruise than the 260. A big block is going to use more fuel for sure.

I'd stay with the small block. The 454s are no longer offered in new packages and the 8.1L is a whole new animal.
300HP/350magMPI or like Dave said 320HP/6.2L.
