I drive past a farm south of Ransom IL now and then on my way to Pontiac and have noticed many different offshore boats parked around buildings. Is he a repair shop? I always go past at odd hours and never see any movement or I would just stop by and ask.

Are they all cats?

I have not seen any cats,all V hulls 32-40'.very nice paint on all that i have seen.I first though maybe he stored boats during the week for guys that boat on IL river,but I see different boats there when driving by.I don't see these boats on river either.

Not that familiar with the city names, but this sounds like Jeff Riss's place. If this is him he is an excellent mechanic (and honest in my dealings) and several boaters from Chicago harbors bring their boats to him. I drive from Antioch, 2.5 hours, to bring my boat to him. I think I take I88 to Hwy 47 north if this sounds right.

This place is south of RT17 before you get to RT23 on what I beleave to be rt 170
