The 124' Trident Yacht "Princess GiGi" (ex. Full Bloom) goes down 60 miles N.E. on Samana Cay in the central Bahamas. It was reported that the garage door (where the toys are kept) failed or the engine room door was left open. Carnival Cruise Lines "Glory" diverted course and rendered assistance.
I have been following talk on a yachting board & there are two captains talking about their experience with the yacht. One of them quit the first day on the job because of "unsafe conditions". The yacht was only a few yrs old.
On another note, "Electra", a 100 foot yacht hit the reef entering Liford harbor. A storm kicked up that night & the aluminum hull broke in two.
Not a good month for the yachts in the Bahamas!
