There are some minor differance's but they are interchangeable.The vortec 5.7 are hydrualic roller motors but you can use standard lifters if you want.Since the vortecs don't use a distributor I'm not sure if the cams have drives for one but any aftermarket cam will fit.Also they use a plastic timing chain cover that has studs built in where the dowel pins would normally be in the block but a steel cover will work,just install the dowels.The main thing I ran across is the hole for the fuel pump drive rod is not machined in the block,must use electric pump.All accessories will bolt on.Hope this helps,Magnum.

that's what i was wanting to hear.
I knew the heads are different ( 8 intake bolts )
wasn't positive on the block.
I've got a frozen block
project a guys
bringing me ( 2002 5.7 volvo), and I want to have all my
