I sat the two side by side and the Hering is definitely much lighter than the p5x and looks perfectly labbed finished. Just curious what the rpm diff would be between the two considering the hydro is box stock. Also the Hering looks like a semi cleaver style. Also curious if anybody has had good results with the Herings on a 28 Daytona?

what engines are you running? hp?

I'm running 2 496 ho's. 425 pshp I removed the turbulator plates, so according to Raylar another 15 to 20 hp on top of that by getting rid of the restriction...

I get about 90 mph right now with Hydro 29p p5x's with great hole shot and mid-range. I recently added IMCO 2" shorties to the mix, so I was wondering if I could go up a pitch or two. I still have to splash the boat with the Hydros to get a baseline. My father just bought a new Donzi and it came with 31p Herings, so perfect opportunity to try them. Jut trying to find out a little about them.

They are completely different blade designs that will induce different behaviors in the boat. Baseline your props and go from there.

my thought would be they may be to big (31hering) they were a tad fat in the heat with my 38zr 575sci. but it would not hurt to try... the shorty's will help.... keep in mind I'm no expert on the subject, just trying to help.

This is the new 38 ZR with 525's. So your 31's seemed a little tall with 575's in the heat? Which 38 ZR do you have?

it was the zr comp it would turn them a-bout 5300, rpm @ 95mph....awesome boat!
