OK while I am laid up and still can not work on the boat I am wondering what I should do to paint my deck. I have sanded off the origianal gell almost to the glass with 80 grit as I had planned to re gellcoat it. I just however got a great quote from a good shop in the area to do the thing in Awlgrip. Should I prime in Durratech and then wet sand to 400-600?

Deck will be all white.

hows it going Jon! yep but 400/600 is to fine and will take forever to sand with. break it with 240 than fine tune with 320.


what are you laid up for. everything OK? dont know if you saw but i got a new boat, 89 ScarabIII , needs a few things but it will be in the water in a few weeks hows biz?

Hey Dave whats up. Been working my azz off!! Business is going very good. Unfortunatly I had to take almost a month off to get better from my 2 herniated discs in my neck. They say that I am looking at another 6 months before I feel normal again. Not sure what that means for the boating season.....

I did see that you got the Scarab. Sounded like a killer deal. Lots bigger stabin cabin in that thing.

I still have to do a lot more stringer replacement in this thing but unfortunatly can not do so with my neck.... So things are on hold. I figure I will do a lot of research now so that when I am ready to do I can just go like mad on it.

Take a look in the Swap area and let me know what you think about the doors that are listed there. I was thinking about getting them and adding them in for some more unique stuff.... What ya think.

Any plans to come out this way any time soon?
