Default Blade Runner

Has anybody seen one of these boats in person? It is a cool looking design, but I am curious how well it performs. The 51' version recently set a new time record for a run around Britain (1,691 miles). They completed it in 27 hours , 10 minutes with an average speed of 62.25mph. The short article in Motor Boating magazine this month says that the 35' version will run better than 80mph with twin Merc Verado 275s!

Anyhow, this is the first that I have seen of these boats and thought that they looked a little different, but cool. The article said that they were in Miami this year for the show. Anybody see one. And NO, I am not ready to trade my boat for one. I am just curious about the design.

That is pretty cool. It is a design that has to grow on you a bit, but I kinda like it. I would love to run one of those things just to see how it handles and what it will do.

I believe that this boat can be seen in St. Petersburg, FL. Anyone interested in the boat can Contact Mark Hawkins.
I can put you in contact with him.

The boat has the same designer as our boats - Lorne Campbell - very well known as a race boat designer on this side of the pond. You can see the similarities in the bow in this shot

We waste fuel??? We use fuel... He wastes time... Trawler with top end at 8 knots...

Those boats look like an interesting design and I am sure very efficient... Howerver I still think they are ugly as sin... Just my opinion.
