Is Clear Lake in Iowa a powerboat friendly lake? Would a 27' boat be out of place on it?

It is a puddle. A 27 would be the 1st or 2nd largest boat on the Lake.

Looked it up on Google Earth, barely 6 miles wide. Unfortunately that's a Pontoon friendly lake.

Not alot of performance boats up there.

Not a very deep lake either.
