Default I have to act quick 05 2500HD Diesel

I have been going back and forth about buying a new pick up. I went to a local deal today and found a 05 2500 HD,Extended cab, Duramax, Alison, LT, Leather,XM, and a lot of other stuff, no sun roof, no power fold mirror, Has added spray in bed liner, tube cab steps. Its very clean, has 6K mi on it, has been on the road since April 05 so just over two year warrenty on the truck. They sold the truck new and took it back on trade for a crew cab. The best they will do is $34,300. The sticker was $45,800. It still smells new inside. Looking at the 06s seems the best I can do is $41K on a new one. At this point its yes or no on the price, they will NOT go down. All opinions welcome

a crew maybe...

I just ordered and bought a new '06 LT1 Crew...no leather, but all the other individual options...pwr seat, wheel controls, alloys, bla bla...

37,393 invoice - 3500 in incentives just under 34K

leather's always a loser. Historically an LT3 (as it is now) leather truck has always been about $2800 cost over the same truck (LT1 now) otherwise in terms of having all the same individual options w/cloth...

in 24 months the leather truck books average KBB/NADA for only $1000 more all else being equal.

disclaimer: individual markets may vary. LT2 is kind of a joke and the worst buy in terms of what you get...it's basically just buckets over an LT1.

with the used DMax's it's alot more about what's under the hood and miles than the gut of the truck.

I have a friend who traded a 05 2500 CC my price is a 30k out the door, I believe it has 13k miles on it. He needed a dually and the Chevy dealer didnt have one, drove the Ford and loved it. If interested I can give you the owners name and the Gen. Mng is a good friend of mine, I buy 2-3 trucks a year from him. Its loaded but it did not have leather. Red with grey inside. Not to mention the quality of the leather...it SUCKS!! The leather is like a hard plastic, what a joke. I just bought a new 2005 GMC 2500HD and didn't want the leather because it's crap and way too hot in the heat. The option for the leather was like $4K, it did include other options though. Not worth it for me.

My last 2 duramaxes were LS's (cloth interior),my buddy had a 01 z-71 with leather and it was seriously uncomfortable, rock hard seats,I drove it several hundred miles and couldn't even get comfortable and never had ANY desire to have leather seats. When I bought my new 06 lbz duramax just for the heck of it I test drove one with the heated leather,I HAD TO HAVE IT. Other than the extra overdrive gear in the trans it is my favorite thing about the truck, the seats are soft, supple leather. I jump in the truck and crank the seat heaters on and my back feels good. These seats seem wider and softer than the ones I disliked,I'm assuming gm has changed them thru the years. With all the discounts I paid 37,700 (plus sales tax) for a new, loaded (except Onstar and sunroof)06 LT3 LBZ crew cab 4wd,I can't see any reason to buy a used one unless its in the 20's,GM will probably be blowing these things out in a few more months if things don't turn around for them,Smitty
