Talking Need to experiment with props

I've been a pain in the butt, but I am ready to try some new props. My boat is a 1984 Formula 302 SR1 with carbbed 502s. I'm running 25p Hydro 4 blades. At WOT trimmed 4600RPM @ 63mph. Rev limiters are set at 5200. I had talked to Julie earlier this year about this, but forgot what was said. Anyhousal, the boat gets on plane great and quick. I feel that I should be spinning them faster than 4600 WOT. Do you guys recommend keeping the 4 blade Hydros or should I look to another prop? I'm ready to buy props now. And, is it still the policy that when you buy a set of wheels and they don't perform as anticipated I can exchange them at no cost , just shipping? Also, I would like a price on a set of props you recommend out the door...tax title and delivery!!

Call Julie, they have a program for trying out props. $100 deposit that goes towards the prop purchase and they send you a prop to try. You pay shipping though. You tell them about the boat and what it ran with that particular prop, then they send you another one until you find the right one. I'm going to get plugged into this setup when I begin to run my new Fountain on a more consistent basis. They'll definitely get you dialed in.

What drives do you have?
If TRS, I'd run Mirage + 3 blade.

check on the hydro website. It explains characteristics of their propellers. I posted my experience with hydro quad IV in your last post. It was not the prop for my set up. And I believe that you and I need all the bow lift possible. Our setups are similar and our numbers are even. I'd try Mirage + 3 blades for all out top end, bravo 1's for overall performance cruising. also look at the hydro website I think they have a 4 blade that works like the bravo 1. I am going to try bravo 1's when I get my boat out of moth ball in 2 weeks. If you haven't made a decision I will let you know my results.

Builder Bob,

I also prefere the Mirage Plus on your hull. They offer great all around performance and better top speed than the 4 blade props. The Bravo 1's will give the better low end and mid range.

We also have a propeller test program. We do not charge $100 to test props though. We have the entire line of Mirage and Bravo 1 props if you would like to test any of them.

I really appreciate all the advice!! The 25p Hydros seems to pull the boat out of the water quick with no cavatation or slip. I thought it was primarily the four blade. So you think that a Bravo 1, 3 blades will increase performance all around? Yes, I do have TRS drives.

Bravo props are 4 blade.
Merc Mirage or Mirage plus 3 blade props should work well on the deap TRS drives.
I also ran Turbo Vectors on my 28' Cig...
