It won't be cheap but Gale Banks probably has a kit for your rig. I put one of their kits on a 460 Ford I had until last year and it totally eliminated the pinging issues I would get periodically, I could always run 87 octane, the engines temps went way down when towing and it sounded great.
JBA or Gibson probably has a system for your rig also. I would make sure you get stainless though. Good luck and let us know how you make out.

Talk to OldSchool. He had the Banks Power kit on his 454 Suburban, but it was on there when he bought it used.
Also, check with R'Addiction. He has a 2500 with a 454, probably same vintage. He has basically upgraded it to a 1-ton, and the truck is mint. He is a GM Goodwrench mechanic, and can tell you whatever you might need to know.
