Default 2006 OPA Rule Book Is Posted

The long awaited 2006 OPA rule book is posted on www.oparacing.com look under 2006 Paperwork tab.

You can also get it by sending me a PM with your email address.

Lots of new rules to break, and you guys will really like section B subsection 12 which states - Anyone driving a boat with the name Typhoon is automatically penalized. We'll make the penalties up as we go. Don't worry Randy, we'll keep it interesting.

Lets get it on..............

Ron will the GPS tracking system be ready for the first race? I am very, very, very happy with the growth and attitude of all the OPA teams and management so far. All of your commitment is shinning in our sport and is being noticed by all.
Now with that being said CATCH ME IF YOU CAN (thats on the water).

*** Performance Class 1 boats are limited 115 MPH as a top speed. This speed may be adjusted on a race-by-race basis depending upon conditions at each race site.

Randy, don't worry. We'll DQ you no matter what you do.....

Seriously, we are still looking into GPS options. Plenty of time before the first race.

OPA....I think you guys should reconsider the 50% payout on prize money. I know some teams may not be able to make four races. I dont feel its reasonable to hold prize money to guarantee 4 race minimum attendance.

Bruce, in order to get the money from the cities, we had to commit to them. We told the teams in Camden last year we would go to work for the betterment of the sport, but that would require the racers supporting OPA. There are seven races pick at least four. Most of the teams are looking to run them all. Sorry I am on Boomers screen name

Sorry buddy, I already have a full schedule. And it would be tough to add 4 more races to it. I would have to be on the road almost every week. We both know how tough that is.

What we were told in Camden appears to be completely different then what is now.

If thats the case, just send me my equipment reg. and I'll sit this season out.

thanks

Bruce, I'm just a newby, but isn't half the payout, vrs the investment required(equipment fees and membership 700 bucks w/no entry) still the best bang for the buck out there? It looks that way to me... but I'm bad at math.
