Default Powerboat TV report on Nortech's muffler system?

Last night on Dish Network channel 216 the Water Channel was a program called Powerboat television. There was a feature on the "new" Nortech muffler system. It appeared the exhaust was being dumped below the water line at the transom. It was not shown how it works on the show. I see how this can help at idle, but the impression on the show it was a muffler system and the boat was quiet all the time. Anyone know more about this setup?

This should answer most, if not all, of your questions:

there was a 36 NT at miami with this system and 850's. its was extremely quiet around the dock(unfortunatly the only place i heard it). My dad has a similar system on his custom SF with underwater exhaust. great idea, more boats should do it.

I wouldn't have believed it but ABSOLUTELY NO LOSS OF POWER!! NO PROP SLIP, only blower whine. I do have a little rattle on the opposite side of the dash that I'm going to have try to find though IT IS THAT QUIET!!

watch tyson's video of OU WANT SOME?!! from Sarasota-- NO MOTOR NOISE only blower....some people will not like the silence, but in the midwest, I'm afraid that there's going to be more legislation for stricter noise control...ala LOTO.

actually, my boat was the test mule...before the 850 / 36'.

The link to the other post was perfect. Thank you. At idle I would think it would be as quiet as a Sea Ray, except the blower noise. So isn't this open exhaust at higher speed just much closer to the water? Does the water turbulance that low help cut the noise? I was going to use the downturns (Gibson) on the boat we are rigging. Would this not accomplsh the same thing?
