Garwoods is gone, they picked the whole building up and moved it inland 
. Some of the best places on the water are in the St Clair Shores area, try Jacks, the Beach Grill, and The Crews Inn (on the Clinton River). You should also check out the Lake St Clair Network, I would post the link by for some reason the site is down. OSO membership from that area is spotty and it is spread out. We live on a small lake to the no. (by the Palace of Auburn Hills) we tow our boat to Lake St. Clair and the other great lakes. We would love to have you out for a beer and a burger, especially if you are good with a wrench
