Default Need Help with Outdrive Paint

I am painting my outdrives. I have everything set up in my garage. I mad a cool little paint booth with downdraft. Anyway. I am ready to apply the DP40LF Epoxy Primer and and then the DCC 9000 Top Coat. I understand there is a 30 minute induction time for the primer after I mix the primer an catalyst. Then Spray. How long before I can apply the top Coat? Then, is there an induction period for the top coat and catalyst?
Thanks

Thanks Brian, That was great info on the primer. Can you link me to the tech sheets for the DCC 9000 top Coat? The web site gives me a message that says I not authorized to view the pages. (Or I just don't know how to find it)

Thanks

I used the same paint on my drives. I don't remember if we let it sit after mixing, but I don't see it mentioned in the tech sheets.

Thanks US1. I guess that it is safe to assume that since it does not say induction time is required, then we dont need to provide any. I guess that I could still give it induction time as long as I spray within the pot life. Does that sound correct?

Thanks again.

Induction time typically applies to epoxies and some true polyurethanes.....with the paint you are using mix and spray within the pot life and you will be ok

ps...The Polyurethane I spray every day says to wait 30 min also...I never do.... ...and the paint lays out ...and lasts just fine ..Just did this one

There is no induction time with your top coat. If you would have got the 402 cat instead of the 401 cat, you wound't of had any induction time on the primer either. For your top coat, spray another piece of steel along with your drive. After your first coat, wait 10 minutes and put your finger in your test piece lightly. If you dont pull strings off with your finger, your good for your next coat.

JB Brian, looks spiffy! I can see the shine on the bed sides too! Do you spray by yourself or do you tag-team big projects like that?
