lookin for some trans advice, my motors should be on the dyno in a week or so and im wondering how much trannie im gonna need to live with the extra power. the guy i bought my boat from had them rebuilt 4 hours before i bought the boat and the builder said they were good for 1150hp. but he couldn't remember the name of the company in fl that did the rebuilds. i would like to have them gone thru and checked out prior to installing my new engines as it would suck big time if i have to yank everything right back apart cuz a trans puked on me. i talked to mark at bam and they dont offer anything other than a full rebuild and the cybrogs seem a little over kill for my application. who else would you recomend that has a good record with the bw 72c's? thx, rm

In my 002 go with crash boxes. They will never break. Yea at first it's a little pain around the docks but once you get used to it it becomes eaiser. PM my old man and he will tell you how many trannys he has gone through.

I'd go with the Huber 1330's or the Bam 11 plate trans. if you need Transmissions.

It's good to be overkill on the trans. If you're at 1100 go for the trans that's a couple steps up. You never know when you're gonna miss-throttle.

Bam 1500

Go with the Bam 1500. There is no such thing as too strong of a transmission. Also, run Valvoline type FA fluid in them.

Hubber 1550 is the only trans.

Huber 1150 Deep Sump with thermostat.

what is the themastat for on the hubers? what does bam get for a 1500? what does huber get for thier comparable trans? thx, rm

Keeps the perfect temp in the trans. $3500. for 1550 Hubber.
