Are you guys payng sales tax on your indoor storage fee's?
Mine is stored in NY and they are charging me tax.
Just wondering.

Is it considered a rental a service or????

Maybe there is some rules he does or does not know....you will have to look and then educate him if he is wrong....it has happened a bunch down here....sales taxes are sometimes a gray area......sometimes we call s/tax local office and hit them with 20 questions and senarios....they studder like babies....but when they audit you....oh they know all....

It depends on your contract. Some storage facilities 'rent' or 'sub-let' a piece of their land/facility. (no sales tax)

Others provide a service of storing your property, you rent nothing and have no rights to this "piece of their land/facility." (sales tax applies here)

My marina doesn't collect taxes.
