Default Muffler Removal

Just wondering if anyone has ever removed the muffler insert on their Corsa exhaust tips?? When I look inside I see a large flat washer with a stud and a nut that looks like it keeps the assembly in place. The nut has a small spot weld but I figure I could go in and use a cut-off wheel to grind the weld away.

cant be done. The mufflers are larger than the oppening, at least on mine, so you will need to torch them into little prices. My new ones just came in today. Buy new, save time.

Yes, it's easy to just replace them with the non-muffled tips. Then sell the muffled ones. That's what I did.

I did pick up a new set of tips but when I went to install them the two bolts on each tip was about 1/4 inch off from the old holes. My last PQ I switched the tips on and they matched up perfectly. The corsa tips seem to have a little different pattern. I simply was not going to oblong the holes out to make them fit. The tips you guys installed did they line up?? If so what brand?

I switched from Corsa muffled tips to Corsa non-muffled so there were no problems with bolt patterns being off.

Mine are from Eddie Marine, I will let you know how they fit, doing them on Monday.

Did anyone get any speed gains? Im looking for better sound, but an extra tick on the speedo would not hurt my feelings....

here is a stupid question................... My boat is not at the house, and Im looking at my tips, and I have no bolts or mounting brackets (that would go on the inside of the boat). Can I take that stuff off the old tips or do I need to buy new bolts? Shouldnt there be a round plaet to mount the bolts too? Seems to me the old muffler bolts did not come off?? I did not take them off so some of the stuff may be there.

What came with yours???

Need intel!!!

Thanks

PQ 380, I am adding diverters and non-muffled tailpipes now. I have one done...

The factory tips were Corsa muffler type. The bolt is part of the tip. It does not look like it comes off. Looking at them pretty close it also does not look like you could take the mufflers out very easily if at all.

My new tips match the existing bolt pattern.

it will sound alot better since it won't be held back by those mufflers but you won't notice any speed at all. I'm about to buy some from http://www.hardin-marine.com/ myself also thinking of changing the tailpipe and going dry exhaust
