I have a 99 Checkmate ZT 280. I am going to be installing hydraulic steering. Do I have a Brazilian or Saginaw steering valve? How can I tell by looking at it?
Thanks

Sorry guys already bought a dull ram add-on new in the box from someone that did not use it. I got a killer deal. If I decide to keep the boat more than a couple years I might upgrade to a full hydraulic helm, until then this will do me just fine.

I sold a dula ram imco steering to a dead beat on here ( jeff larson). If you need a stock steering ram than please let me know. I have got one that the dead beat never paid me for. I also have to lines for the imco dual ram.

Thanks, but I think I have everything I need. I just need to know if I have the right valve?
Any body?

Andy, my brain was tired when we talked yesterday.
Some one here should be able to confirm this. I think the way it works, if you have the Saginaw valve you simply tie into a couple of ports on the valve. If you have the Brazil valve, you change over to the saginaw valve. That is why the Saginaw valve came with your kit.

Andy, I was doing some checking here

It seems with the Saginaw valve you cut and T into some lines. With the brazil valve you need and adapter that you hook your new hoses up to. I have not found a picture of the valves to ID which one you have.
In the tech section you will find the insall directions. That's where i got the info.

The system a bought is a dual ram on Hardin Marine/ Mayfair system. I have to say I am impressed with the quality of there product. The fit and finish is great and it came with braided stainless steel hose, which is a nice finishing touch. I fiqured out my problem with a call to their tech line, they were also able to help me with a few misc parts since out bought the system new in the box from an individual on the board. Bottom line is great product, and excellent customer service and a very knowledegable staff at Hardin Marine.
Thanks for your help Jeff!!
