how the hell do those guys know where to go. Like there is no rhyme or reason to their track.
Thats amazing. The steering ratio must be one inch to 25 degrees of the rudder turning.

The navigator has to keep track of the turns and hand signal the driver..Very cool spectator sport imho

I dont think spectating too close would be a good idea. Ill bet they go flying off onto the lawn quite a bit.

Seen it happen before. There is a vid floating around of it, boat came up a pretty high embankment and ran over a spectator, she lived, but with a broken hip. This stuff is popular in the NW of the US and western Canada as well as a big sport in New Zealand and Austraila. My old man will still work some races, it is very fast paced. They also have the races where they run rivers (with rapids) one way over a given distance sometimes upwards of a 100 miles I believe. Anytime you have to put a rollcage............on a boat...............
