Default Fire in NJ - LBI

Anyone know the details of this? I hope it wasn't a Top Gun or any kind of speed boat.

That sucks! Lucky they were rescued quickly. That water is still cold enough to kill. The article says "diesel spill". Probably not a perf. boat.

""Before jumping out of the 38-foot boat, the men radioed the Coast Guard at 9:37 a.m. for help and used a cell phone to make a quick 911 call, according to the Coast Guard.""

It's so important to have a good VHF radio and a cell phone that works. I've had no luck with my Nextel service the past several months. I should probably change carriers asap.

Those guys were lucky!

I remember growing up in NJ and we were at the beach in Surf City (on Long Beach Island) and a boat caught fire and sank about 50 yards out. It only burned for like 15 minutes and sank. The guys swam to shore
