Electric over hydraulic brakes new Myco trailer.
#1
Just bought a new Myco trailer and it came with standard surge brakes. They work fine but I would like to install electric/hydraulic brakes that will work with the towmaster system on my F-250 Diesel. Has anyone had experience with this? If so, I would like as much detail as possible...I remember reading that electric brakes do not like salt water...what else is new?! Thanks.

Carlisle makes an electric over hydraulic system that is available with an adapter to let the Ford controller work with it.
I am using thier system with a Tekonsha Prodigy controller which also requires the same adapter and it works fine. Once you tow with controllable brakes you'll never want to go back to surge.

The best/right way to do this is to call Myco directly 941-748-2397. Ask for Tim in parts. He will get you exactly what you need.
I think you will need the pump, wiring, and a solid coupler.
then put the old stuff on ebay and get it out of your garage...
