Default Most efficient oil cooler for the money, or flush the old one…

After a spun rod bearing I am contemplating replacing the oil cooler. Wondering if it is best to just flush the old one out or replace it. Is there something in the construction that makes it problematic to fully flush one out or am I taking chances with the new engine. This is the model I had when I spun the bearing;

Any other ones I should look at if I decide to replace it? Don't care about chrome or powder-coating, black paint is fine. Looking for the most cooling capacity for a blown 502.

Any tips on flushing if I decide to clean and re-install?

With the Sprint Car Engines that went south on us the oil coolers, hoses etc. went to the dumpster. Others may say it's OK to flush them out but how can you be sure of what you can't see.

I think flushing may be the most efficient at taking more money out of your wallet.

never flush a cooler,or lines, after a casualty-you will never get all the metal out-if you want to take a chance to save money you will find out the hard way when the the engine comes apart again

That looks like the standard cooler you can get from any dealer. If I was to do it over again, I would buy one with a thermostat control.
