Custom v-berth bedding???
#1
My wife wants me to ask if anyone knows where she can get custom bedding made for our v-berth (47 Fountain). I hope she's not going to want to repaint it.

Overstock.com offers 4"+ memory foam and quilted down zip up covers to put it in.
We bought a 4" thick California King and cut it with an electric knife to match the contour of our V-Birth cushions. You can just tuck the extra cover/bag under the memory foam. We have it all covered with Purple sheets to match the boat. Very Nice!!!!!
One downside is that memory foam is heavy and we added about 40lbs to the bow!
If I was to do this again I would bump up to 5 or 6" foam.

Are you talking about the actual mattress or just the linens? We had a regular upholstery place make up a real nice 6" thick foam mattress for my Silverton for about 400 bucks-that thing is the bomb. They also did up some sheets by taking a standard King sheet and trimming it and redoing the elastic and edges on the top sheet. I would venture to say any seamstress could whip up some sheets for you no sweat, and you can pick the quality. Most of the custom sheets I have seen at boat shows and Boat US are kind of low quality and rough.

Oh BTW, the guy kind of turned me off to memory foam since he said if it gets wet it takes forever to dry, as long as you never leave a hatch open it would probably be fine.
