Who has High output alternators?
#1
I'm putting a big stereo system in the new boat. I've been trying to find high output "marine" alternators with no luck. Anyone know who has them in 160 to 200+ amp??
I found them in up to 250 amp for auto applications. Can I use these or do they need to be espically for marine?

I think the only difference for marine is the screens on the vents. I got mine here:

I think I have a couple of brand new ones that came off a Caterpillar motor if you are interested.

I bought my 100 amp alternator from www.dbelectrical.com too.
One word of caution, a larger output usually means a larger housing. I had to use a shorter than normal drive belt to get mine to work. If the belt stretches more than an inch, I'll need a new belt.
