Central IL to Lake Powell - Best Route?

Central IL to Lake Powell - Best Route?
The road trip to Lake Powell begins in a few days. From where I live it's a toss up between US-70 and US-40. Any recommendations from those who have traveled these routes?

I took both routes last year from KC. I-40 to Lake Powell and I-70 back home. I-70 seemed quicker. Both roads are / were in good condition. If I did it again I would go I-70 both ways.
The roads from I-70 to Page, AZ are mostly 2 lane, but there was little traffic and the speed limit was 65 most of the way. Seems like it was about 5 or 6 hours from I-70 to Page.
Have a great time. It is a cool place.
