Default UNBELIEVABLE GAS MILEAGE WITH TRIPLE 525s

Last Sunday we left Diversey Harbor(Chicago) and went across the lake to New Buffalo, MI. Had lunch, walked around (man, it was hot!), came back to Chicago for a late dinner. On the way there I gave the crew a little speed burst, on the way back a little longer blast. After all that, my (3) gas gauges still read FULL! Am I right, is that not unbelievable? I wonder if it has anything to do with the fact that the gauges haven't worked since day one, although, to their credit they have attempted to fix them a couple times.

Gas dock never lies... I've learn early not to trust in my gas gauges...

Yeah found out over the weekend that you can save 1/3 the fuel if you blow and outside drive and run around on the other 2 at about 40

BTW, it won't plane with the 2 outside drives unless you remove the center prop, but it will plane on the center and one side drive with no problem-hope you never need to use that trick.

nice - I put in a navman with fuel flow meters - getting .53 gph at 30 mph and 3600 rpm - of course I had the drives down due to a screwed up trim pump hose but even if it were up on plane ,,,,right?....ouch

My gas guages in both the car and boat don't move off full until about 1/3 of the tank is used. Half full is really 1/3 full, and it is scary to see how fast that needle moves towards empty in the bottom third of the guage!

exactly. ill head out with a full tank ankd come back with 3/4 or hea dout with half, do the samae trip, and either have to stop somewhere for fuel or just make it home. The smartcraft with the 525's has a fuel used gauge. This is the only thing i trust. or you cen get floscan gauges, same thing, just not as nice looking.
