yes it is possible to silence 3 big hpblower motors with exhaust coming out under a 3' swim platform, have tried every muffler and multiple inserts, tips without even getting close to 90 decibel maximum allowance on j-2005 test. We had 5" stainless mandrel bent turn downs manufactured on a 5 million dollar bending machine, machined to work with Merc 6 drive, and bologna cut and polish. the boat at idle was at 104db, it now is at 83 at idle, my ford deisel was at 84 db, it was alot of workbut I can now run legal what a relief, If anyone else needs a special application we now have the contacts and resources to get your boat legal without any performance loss period, all you can hear is blower whine, its a cool sound. will be posting pics soon, people at the marina could'nt believe the difference. hard work does pay off, Wiggler---

no change in performance at all, motors seem to like it, do not have inserts in turndowns now, although have a pair of set screws for 18" inserts , but not worrying about running tests at all with so many boats, stay in the middle of the channel, look out for water patrol and be rfeady to slow boat to idle.with any muffler or insert there will be some loss. with the huge swim platform as an echo chamber no muffler will work. this is the only current technology by going under water, and unless you order a new boat set up with turn downs from factory this retrofit is the only solution to really get big motors to meet the sound guidelines. alot of people claim they meet it but if they ever had their boat checked it would fail. this was checked my water patrol legally and I used my meter also, they conform.finally can hear the blower whine at idle and dont need 3000 watts for my stereo anymore.
