OK, maybe I'm a complete idiot but this measuring for tailpipes is not an easy thing to accomplish. Even with the motors out of the boat. I have a 99 KV top gun with HP500's. I'm switching from stock GIL's to CMI E-Tops. Who's engineered a way to make measuring for tailpipes easier? The only thing I've read is someone using PVC to fab their own tailpipes??
There has to be an easier way.
I've come up with 13 7/8 from crankshaft over to exhaust hole, & 35 1/4 from crankshaft to crankshaft. Anyone know if this would be considered standard bravo set up? I'm going to measure again with a couple more hands but there doesn't seem to be an easy way.
Q?: If I purchase standard (off the shelf) bravo tailpipes from CMI & they don't fit... why would CMI not take them back?

I did the PVC thing. Got tail pipes in and did not fit correctly. Took many pictures of tail pipes missing with ruler so they could see where and how much missed. Emailed them the pictures and sent tail pipes back. After about 2 conversations they tried again and got close enough that they worked.

If you go with custom pipes from CMI prepare for a long wait
I was told 2 weeks in March, still don't have my center set
. As far as STANDARD BRAVO setup, Trick should have those in stock, If they wouldn't fit I bet he would take them back. " I think" Tom
BTW it is hard to measure them.........

The pvc sounds like a pain however it will get ya close.
I just went through this with Stelling What a PITA.
See my new to me Skater thread.
I gave them measurements they sent a ss mark up pipe
it was way off. Had to chop saw it and rebend and tig it.
Sent it back. Got lost by UPS then found it.
They were able to build a finished one sent it to me it fit
perfect. Then they built the other three. That I must say
fit perfect. This process took six months.
My compliments to Randy at stellings.
I am sure CMI will get it for you.
Just be patient.

Send me your email address, I have the forms in .pdf format and will get them right over to you. We have standard tails in stock. Which header system are you using?

My custom tailpipes (12" down and 12" over) took 6-8 weeks from CMI. I have a set of new unused stock bravo tailpipes for $500- try them and then measure and then resell then.

Well, I bought a very nice laser level, aligned it to the inside of the transom and I think it worked pretty good. Looks like 13 7/8- 14'' is the magic number. both up and over from the crankshaft. I hope this ends up being stock bravo... please please!!!
