The ASD7 differs from the ASD6 with a stronger case, an improved steering system, bigger internals, and a different rudder configuraiton.

These changes have allowed us to raise the power level for the ASD7 to 850 hp.

They would look kool on the back of your boat.

I forgot to answer all of your question..

The ASD6 Kits and the ASD7M Kits are for boats with 850 ish and less power and the ASD8-6's are basically for 850 up. The ASD7M was made for the Catamaran applications originally but it worked so well on the V bottoms that I sell them for both applications. With these drive kits the engine can remain in the rear of the boat.

I have the ASD8-6's on boats with some big power. Bacardi, Sorcerer, Leon Dearberry's, Al Burns to name a few. I have made a rudder arrangement for the customers that desire that setup as well with these drives.

All these models are counter rotating drive units.

The ASD8's also come in an inline model for the diesel applications like you see on the Nortec's for example with the new 480 hp Yanmars.

Jeff, the ASD8 inline drive units will be what Nortec puts on the 43' with the Yanmars.
