does anyone know of a good deal on any clean late model 27 fountains for sale minus powerand preferable minus drive and transom assembly also. possibly 29. has to have external hydraulic steering. has to be set up for bbc and bravo. also, do any dealers have leftover 27s that they would consider selling minus engine, drive, and transom assembly? thanks in advance for responses
also, how fast would a new one go with 900hp or so? thanks

With 900hp in a step hull you would probably see triple digits.

I have a 98 29 Fever wita a 540 8-71 blower motor built by Chief,have seen 96 on gps 90+ degrees very humid on flat water. Imco extreme 2inch shorty 32B-1 labbed.Theres more left ran out of room still testing that wasnt even full throttle motor dynoed at 825 ay 6000 with less than 5 pounds of boost i'am running it at 10lbs now 900+hp with a 50-50 mix of 110 and 93 octane.Planning to up the boost a bit more.this boat will see 100 in the next week!!!

2004 Fountain 29' Fever Whippled 540 went 96mph 32p Hering. Still working on dialing in engine as well as prop.

Rackster, is that a 5 or 6 blade Hering,i ordered a 6 blade 4 months ago,they said three weeks?I'VE TRYED Hydro p5x's my boat doesnt like them,Maximus is fine for planning and cruise.B-1 34 labbed on now 95mph at 5500 first time out didn't push it.Peak h.p. at 6000rpm.Our are hulls the same or has Reg changed them at all?Thank's Ray

It was a 6 blade Hering. The hull is the same, I think your boat has a different deck. I tried a couple of Maximus props as well (30,32L). They were good planing and at cruise speeds. The 32 lifted the complete boat, so much that at about 80-85 mph, it "walked sideways" . After that, it straightened out and ran about 93 mph.

I have a 27 ft whit a mildly worked 502 that has a whipple on it. I run about 5 lbs of boost on the engine. I run a 28 stock 4 blade (non-labbed) and I see speeds of 78 mph with 2 people and a full tank, with ½ tank and 2 people I can run between 83 and 85 depending on the water. I don’t make that much HP in fact I don’t know how much HP I make at all, but I am sure that with the right labbed prop that there are some increases in my speed right around the corner.

100+ in a 29'. That must be one hell of a ride.

Rackster,what rpm's are you spinning at 96,I'am going to call Hering right now sound's like that's the nut prop!What's with Hering they say three week's it's been 4 month's!!! Did you have a problem gitting your prop?well it's about to rain here in sunny Fl. gotta cover the boat.See ya life just begin's at 100,hey Rackster do you have a dyno sheet on your motor if so what's your h.p.
