Default Nice 29 Mirage on Ebay

Looks nice and clean.
Any opinions on the 29 mirage?
I think LS had one once.

My neighbor had one years ago. Wave crusher , but heavy.
The guy that did that survey is a boob.. Bravo 2 drive units and TRS transmisions ?? 500 / 500 HP ?? What are they ?? Serial numbers not visible ?? What he means is he realy doesnt know where to look ..
Merctrans or B&G , never heard of a TRS tranny..
Id say 15K max

P1, agreed, survey makes no sense.
Its close enough to me to check out... 20mins from my office.
It'll be interesting to see where the bidding ends up on this.

Survey is also 3 years old.

I raced a 28' Cig for 2 years and then a friend of mine bought a 29' Mirage. I had the oppertunity to throttle it for a year in APBA competition. The Mirage made me fearless compared to the 28' Cig. The Mirage has much more freeboard and a foot bigger made a big difference. The one I raced in and throttled for a year was called Gazpacho owned by my friend Joe Barro. The 2nd one I bought a few years later, just a pleasure boat but a real wave crusher for sure! They were built in Miami by a guy named Cortez. Great boat.

I think that boat was originally from NJ. It belonged to Arnie Jr. It was in storage at Arnolds Yatch Basin inside for years. It was a small block Trs. boat. Arnie stopped using it in about 1982 or so. They took the engines and drives out of it & it just sat for years & years. I remember when he repainted it they used car paint........ If thats the same boat... Sure lookes like it to me. Not many with that interior & a tripple bolster.

Hello Steve (LS),

I raced with the late Jeff Galante after bought Joe Barro's Gazapacho and painted it blue and raced it as Outlaw, Kept the same M-44 number.
you are right, the boat made you fearless as you felt so comfortable racing it compared to a Cig or Magnum. Jeff had it until it was stolen from East Dover Marina in Toms River. I really like running that boat. There were several that ran out of Mich that were bad fast back in those days.
Take Care
Thank you
Jim

So you guys w/ Mirage 29 experience... besides the resale, just talking ride / handling, would this be a better boat than a 28cig or 27/28 magnum?
And I'm talking the 29mirage in general, not specifically either one in this thread.
