Inter Coolers on a 575 Merc?

Has anyone done inter coolers on these motors?
Is straight bolt on or do you have to mess with the computer to tune them?
Does anyone make a kit for them?
Is there any noticable differance?

Do a search for post by user "steve zuckerman" and you may find a thread by him on this. He did it and it works well, worth the money he said. If you cannot find a thread about it just PM him and he will reply. You can also find some of his post in the Nordic section. Whipple is the place for the cooler!!

I searched under inter cooler. Found some info but I would like to here from someone thats been there. Its sounds like what I'm looking for. But I don't know if I want to tackle this project myself or out source. It sounds like it may require some expertise to be problem free.

I've done several of them. Whipple makes a complete kit. I did them on a 42 Fountain and a 38 Scarab. Both owners were very happy, picked up about 4 MPH. I can sell you the kit if you need a source. The kit is a straight bolt on, but you must send the ECU to Whipple for reprogramming. You will need a scan tool to get it timed correctly. There are a couple of tricks you need to know when installing them to make life easier, but it's basically an intake manifold change and some plumbing.
