Hi all, i have a low hour 2003 25 OL and i would like to know what is the best exhaust film cleaner to use on the transom after a weekend on the water? I would like something that will cut the film but also wont hurt my gel coat?

All sorts of stuff works. I like liquid glass myself.

Just remember to rewax the area when finished.

A friend uses Castrol Super Clean... Tested on my 25 OL' transom : Stuffs is incredible! Works better than Simple green and it's Biodegradable.

star-brite black streak remover and a mr. clean magic eraser, works great.

I just ordered some Hot Sauce for the boat and Transom Sauce for the back... seems to work well. I spray on the Transom Sauce as soon as we pull out, and let it sit for 5-10 minutes. I then wash the entire boat with Frenzy Wash and Wax.

Waxing Frenzy is also the only wax that will protect up to 1210 degrees. Makes cleaning the exhausts a breeze; pretty much with a damp rag at the end of the day.

To clean the black soot off the transom use either Simple Green or Roll Off. To make the job easy keep a coat of ReJex on the transom. Rejex is the only product I've found to make washing transom soot and water lines off the boat super easy. Simple Green is noncaustic and will not harm anything plus it is only $8 a gallon at Lowes.
